Perhaps our constant prayer should be the words of Psalm 19:12, in which the psalmist acknowledges that he may do something wrong without realizing it and asks that these unknown [to him] mistakes be forgiven-taken from him.
We are constantly interacting with so many people – sometimes in person and perhaps more often via social media and email. It is so easy to have our tone of voice, our expression, our mode of speaking, misunderstood. How much easier do misunderstandings arise when all others see are the words printed on a screen. And so, we offend. What we attempt to communicate is not what others hear or read and our words are misunderstood. Others become hurt, angry, shamed, and we don’t know.
Thus, we too, ask that the wrongs we may have done without our knowledge be taken from us and forgiven.
